In Loni, Hindu Raksha Dal Rally Features Anti-Muslim Slurs and ‘Love Jihad’ Tableau

A tableau promoting the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad” was displayed during the Hindu Dharmoday Yatra organised by the Hindu Raksha Dal. The display featured a refrigerator containing dismembered body parts and depicted a Muslim man cutting a body. Participants at the rally also openly brandished swords.

Bhupendra ‘Pinki’ Chaudhary, president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, during the Hindu Dharmoday Yatra organised by his group, referred to Muslims using derogatory terms such as “katua” and “kathmulla.” He also peddled the conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” claiming that his organisation is fighting against it. Participants at the event raised slogans issuing threats, using derogatory language with connotations of s*xual violence against Muslim women.

During the Hindu Dharmoday Yatra organised by Hindu Raksha Dal, BJP Minority Morcha leader Nazia Elahi Khan delivered a speech characterized by violent rhetoric and dehumanizing language targeting the Muslim community. Using derogatory slurs such as “Kathmulla,” “Khatna,” “suar” (pig), and “atanki” (terrorist), she issued explicit threats of physical violence, stating, “Muslims’ circumcision is incomplete; we will finish it,” and urged the audience to “show scissors wherever you see a Kathmulla.” She further promoted actions intended to provoke religious offence, including encouraging people to keep pigs in their homes and streets, make daughters wear lockets made of pigs’ teeth, and open pig meat shops in every street. She also raised slogans asserting that India would be made a “Hindu Rashtra.”
