In Uttar Dinajpur, BJP Leader Claims Demographic Change Threatens Women’s Safety

Location: Chakulia, Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal

BJP National President Nitin Nabin, speaking at an election campaign rally, claimed that a “demographic change” through “Bangladeshi ghuspaith” is causing concerns for women’s safety and insulting them. He claimed that Hindus should have had land for worship and culture, which is now being given to “ghuspaithiyas” to offer namaz, but not space for Durga Puja. He termed Muslim individuals excluded from the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) as “ghuspaithiya.” He also promised to rename places like Alipurduar and Islampur, claiming them to be against the culture and sentiment of Bengal.
