Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking at an election campaign rally, claimed that Assamese society is under imminent threat. He alleged that “Bangladeshis” had entered Golaghat, and said his government had worked hard to evict them, referring to those displaced as “Bangladeshis.”
