At a Hindu Sammelan, a group of young school students performed a skit promoting the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” terming it an organised effort by the Muslim community. The skit portrayed a “Muslim man” masking his identity to marry a Brahmin woman, and depicted graphic scenes in which the character and his family coerce the woman to convert to Islam, commit acts of violence, and force her to consume meat when she refuses. The Muslim man is shown receiving 15 lakh rupees and being praised for his success as a “love jihadi.” The play concludes with the man threatening to cut the woman into pieces when she attempts to escape.
