Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking at an election campaign rally, said that the opposition is claiming that meat and fish consumption would be banned if the BJP comes to power because it would ban “beef.” He questioned the audience on whether “beef” should be banned and asserted that, if the BJP comes to power, they will ban the beef trade. He declared that the BJP will bring in a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to curb polygamy and beef consumption. He claimed that he had prevented “Bangladeshi Muslims” from entering Assam and said that he expelled them the same day. He alleged that the Hindu population would decrease in the state due to “Bangladeshi Muslims.” Referring to violence in Bangladesh, he said that if the TMC remains in West Bengal, the situation would be worse and she will sell the state and the country to “Bangladeshi Muslims.” He added that only one, either them or the “Bangladeshi Muslims,” can live and that both cannot cohabit in West Bengal and Assam. He further claimed that “Bangladeshi Muslims will eat up Assam and Bengal” and that no Hindu can survive after 20 years. He said that he had politically “broken the limbs” of “Bangladeshi Muslims” in his last term and promised to politically “break their lives” in the next term.
