Police in Maharashtra’s Jalna district have registered a case against the principal of a private school and two teachers over allegations that students performed to a Pakistani song during a school event.

The case was filed by Partur police on Thursday against Kids World English School principal Wazhiyoddin Siddiqui and two staff members under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to acts endangering national unity, promoting enmity, spreading misinformation, and creating public alarm.

Social Media Allegations Trigger Action

The controversy began after videos and posts on social media claimed that during the school’s annual gathering in March 2025, students danced to what was described as a Pakistani song.

Some posts also alleged that an image of Pakistani extremist Mumtaz Qadri was shown during the performance, leading to outrage and calls for strict action.

Local BJP MLA Babanrao Lonikar demanded action against the school management and even called for the cancellation of the school’s recognition.
