At a Hindu Sena event, Hindu Sena leader Vinay Sharma claimed that Hindus were being killed because of their belief in “bhaichara” (communal harmony) and urged the audience to “answer a brick with a stone,” implying retaliatory action. He also demonised Muslims for eating beef, claimed that Muslims could never be brothers of Hindus, questioned their place in India after the creation of Pakistan, called for retaliation against “jihadis,” and threatened violence against Muslims if they “even touch a Hindu.”
