At the ‘Worker Development Class’ closing ceremony organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Joint General Secretary Ramdutt Chakradhar asserted that India is inherently a “Hindu Rashtra,” claiming that the country’s major institutions derive their values from Hindu traditions and literature and not the Bible or the Quran. He alleged that “anti-national” forces were attempting to alter India’s demography through religious conversion and peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and “land jihad,” warning that demographic change had previously led to the Partition of India and must not be allowed to occur again. He cited past inquiry committees on religious conversion, asserting that conversions of Hindus are carried out through inducement, greed, and deception, and demanded that all such activities should be stopped.
