Hindu nationalist supporters staged a protest against meat shops operating near a Shiva temple. During the demonstration, Vijay Hindu delivered an anti-Muslim hate speech, rejecting the idea of communal brotherhood and stating that bhaichara should be practised only by those who had married their daughters to “Mullas.” The group alleged that the sale of meat near the temple insulted Hindu religious sentiments and demanded that the businesses be shut down.
