During a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event, VHP-Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma claimed that terrorism has a single identity –“the wearing of a skullcap and the reading of the Quran.” He alleged a conspiracy by the Congress and Pakistan’s ISI to label saffron-clad Hindus as terrorists, claiming that the plan was thwarted only because Ajmal Kasab was captured alive. He claimed that the Hindu community had now awakened to these alleged conspiracies, contrasting this with what he described as its past silence over displacement and violence against Hindus and women in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kashmir and Afghanistan.
