Members of a Hindu nationalist organisation organised a gathering to mobilise their workers following what they described as an alleged “love jihad” case in Malda. Speakers urged members to remain vigilant and take stronger social action in response to such cases, claiming that they were placing increasing pressure on Hindu organisations. During the meeting, Muslim men they accused of engaging in “love jihad” were referred to as “jihadis” and described as “soulless.”
