At an Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, VHP Nagpur City secretary Amol Thackeray glorified the demolition of the Babri Masjid, crediting Bajrang Dal workers with erasing the structure in “just six hours.” He claimed the organisation was working towards celebrating an Independence Day in Lahore, Pakistan. Thackeray also alleged that Hindus were being persecuted in Maharashtra, called on Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to implement the “Yogi model” in the state, and warned that the Bajrang Dal would take up weapons if his demands were not met.
