At an Independence Day meeting, Pravin Togadia, founder and president of the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, called for Hindus to organise and build a strong force, while advocating weapons training and glorifying violence against historical enemies. He said Hindu tradition had no place for forgiveness and spoke of “annihilating” enemies, while claiming that Mughals had been completely wiped out. Togadia also called for the saffron flag to be raised across Lahore, Rawalpindi, Dhaka, Chittagong, Kabul and Kandahar, urged Hindus to keep iron pipes and axes at home, and called for Shastra Pujan as a means of preparing to “eliminate our enemies.”
