During an event, Hindu nationalist singer Kanhiya Mittal used dog-whistle rhetoric to accuse Muslims of living and benefiting from India’s resources of acting like “descendants of Aurangzeb,” refusing to chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and treating the Red Fort as their father’s property– where they believe they are entitled to drop bombs. He asserted that India belongs to Sanatanis, not “Babur, Dabar, or Gajar”, and alleged that Muslims singing bhajans have “no connection to Sanatan Dharma”. He claimed that abandoning Hinduism for Christianity causes “Pitru Dosh,” and urged them to stop visiting mazars. He asserted that a saffron (“Bhagwa”) flag signals to any “Abdul” that the house belongs to those who “planted the saffron flag on Babur’s chest” and built the Ram Temple. He alleged that Bangladeshi, Afghan, and Pakistani “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators) target Hindu women and families, urging Aadhaar-based identity verification before befriending them. He called on women to “be like Durga, be like Kali, but never be burqewali” and opposed roads being named after figures such as Aurangzeb.
