At a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event, VHP–Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma warned that Hindus were “running out of time” and targeted “Western” cultural practices such as live-in relationships. He peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “Love Jihad,” claiming it had evolved into Hindu women willingly marrying Muslim men, and called for a law requiring Hindu women to marry only Hindu men, declaring, “we don’t want Muslim daughters.” He accused foreign invaders of committing atrocities against Hindus and alleged that Christian missionaries were relentlessly pursuing the religious conversion of Hindus. He also claimed that the Opposition was undermining Hindu society and attacked Rahul Gandhi over his criticism of Hindu scriptures, contrasting them with “burqa,” “halala,” and “triple talaq” and claiming he would never comment on such practices in “religious books.” He claimed Hindu society no longer knew who its “enemy” was, alleging that “a Pakistan has sprung up every kilometer” in India and accusing Hindus of renting shops to Muslims. He further claimed that Muslims were openly challenging Sanatan Dharma and “auctioning your sisters and daughters,” alleging that the Meena Bazaar of Akbar’s time now takes place every day and night, with “jihadi brokers” treating girls as “merchandise” and circulating their photographs on mobile phones. He called on Hindus to take responsibility for “saving” the country, claiming that those who oppose Sanatan Dharma and “hate Hindus” necessarily “hate this country.”
