In Uttarakhand, CM Dhami Promotes “Jihad” Conspiracies and Threatens Clerics

Location: Chakarpur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand

At a Raksha Bandhan program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “land jihad,” “love jihad,” and “thook jihad,” and highlighted the dissolution of the Madrasa Board and anti-conversion laws. Referring to a Maulana in Rudrapur who reportedly warned against the closure of madrasas, Dhami threatened strict legal action, alleging that the statement reflected a wider “ideology” behind it. He declared that Uttarakhand was not a place for vote-bank politics or appeasement, and said his government would not be intimidated by “mulla-maulvis.” He also cited alleged cases of mass conversions through inducements and claimed his government had “freed” 13,000 acres of government land from alleged encroachment.
