At a meeting for the expansion of the Hindu Raksha Dal district committee, District President Pintu Kumar Mahato peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and warned that Muslims, “qasai” (butchers), and Christians were a “threat” to Hindus. He alleged that they befriend Hindus only to betray them and urged Hindus to identify such people. Calling for Hindu unity, he warned that if anyone ‘raises an eye’ at a Hindu man or woman, Hindus must make their presence felt and assert their collective strength.
