During the 62nd VHP Foundation Day and Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Organising General Secretary Milind Parande promoted the conspiracy theory of “love jihad”, describing it as a “monstrous” problem that needed to be “finished off” and urging the audience to ensure that no woman was trapped in “love jihad”. He also fearmongered about Christian missionaries, claiming they were tricking Hindus. VHP leader Manjunath also promoted the conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and urged Hindus to conduct business only with other Hindus.
