At a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) foundation day event, a speaker called on Hindus to unite to protect cows, saying “Gau Mata” was calling on them to identify and punish those involved in cow slaughter. He said VHP and Bajrang Dal members had dedicated themselves to protecting Hindu society and cows, and urged Hindus to support the VHP, claiming that the organisation protects Hindu homes, women and property. He further credited Hindu unity with the demolition of the Babri Masjid and construction of the Ram Mandir, saying that thousands of Sanatanis had been determined to demolish the mosque.
