A Muslim youth was allegedly assaulted, humiliated, and forced to chant Hindutva slogans in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly.

Police have arrested the main accused, identified as Rishabh Thakur, and said further arrests are likely.

According to the police and the FIR, the incident took place on the evening of March 28 in the Cantonment police station area.

The accused also recorded the assault and circulated the video on social media sites. The video is now viral on the internet.

The video clearly shows a group of individuals identifying themselves with the Bajrang Dal, who intercepted Shoaib.

During the assault, the accused, Rishabh Thakur, can be seen accusing the young man of engaging in “Love Jihad” and citing local warnings against such interfaith associations. The group used verbal abuse and physical threats to intimidate the victim.

Finally, the captors forced Shoaib to recite religious slogans and declare that all Hindu women are his sisters as a form of humiliation.
