During a rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Indian National Congress of raising land issues only after land was “reclaimed” from “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators), alleging it protected the vote bank and enabled alleged illegal encroachment. He claimed Congress gave land belonging to Kaziranga National Park, farmers, and Adivasis to “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators). He further asserted that his government has taken strict action and removed such alleged encroachers, questioned whether “ghuspaithiya” should be allowed to remain in Assam, and said they would complete this task with the support of voters.
