During a Virat Hindu Sammelan, far-right monk Swami Yashveer Maharaj peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” urging attendees to take to the streets if even one Hindu girl is perceived to be “trapped,” and suggesting they should “bring 25 to 30 of their daughters” in exchange to instill fear. He asserted such retaliation would ensure no one “looks at a Hindu woman again,” while using derogatory slurs against Muslims to reinforce his remarks. Framing the religious conversion of Muslim women to “Sanatan Dharma” as liberation, he encouraged them to discard the burqa and denounce practices such as halala. He dehumanised Muslim women as “sheep and goats” who allegedly bear “15 to 20 children,” and concluded with the chant, “This country belongs neither to the Mullah nor the Qazi, this country belongs to the brave Shivaji.”
