During an event organised by the Gau Raksha Cell of Vishva Hindu Mahasangh, leader Rajesh Pandey contrasted Muslim and Hindu religious practices, claiming Muslims close their shops every Friday for namaz while few Hindus visit temples, and called for weekly Hanuman Chalisa recitations to promote Sanatan Dharma. He fearmongered about the decline in Hindu population, claiming Muslims have ‘twenty children’ while Hindus remain at one or two, and contrasted their children entering occupations such as ‘puncture repair and selling eggs’ with Hindus educating their children. He warned that if Muslims became the majority in an area, they would gradually “cut” Hindus until none remained, claiming Hindu doctors and engineers would eventually be killed 20–25 years later. He urged Hindus to advance Sanatan Dharma and Hindutva, claiming Muslims unite when confronting Hindus while Hindus remain divided.
