Rahul ‘Sanju’ Mishra, leader of the Hindu Jodo Sangathan, shut down and evicted Muslim vendors who were setting up stalls at a mela held at a village Devi temple on the occasion of Navaratri. He claimed that the presence of Muslims made Hindu women feel unsafe and accused the vendors of engaging in “love jihad” under the guise of selling jewellery.
