Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking at an event marking one year of the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state, defended his repeated references to anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “land jihad,” “love jihad,” “thook jihad,” and alleged demographic change. Referring to an India Hate Lab report on hate speech in India, which placed him at number one for delivering the highest number of hate speeches in 2025, Dhami said that if such statements were considered hate speech, he would continue to make them.
