At a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event hosted by VHP–Bajrang Dal, a speaker used the term “people with a jihadi mindset” to target those allegedly attempting to burn the Manusmriti outside the RSS building in Delhi and Nagpur. He attacked Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his Christian upbringing and his exposure to “Islamic thought” in his party had left him disconnected from Hindu Sanatan beliefs. Referring to Gandhi’s “Chhatron Ki Goonj” programme, he condemned his remarks that the Manusmriti oppresses women and contrasted them with practices such as “halala” and “mahram.” He further claimed that burning the Bible or Hadith anywhere in the world would trigger riots, while accusing Gandhi of insulting Hindu Sanatan traditions.
