BJP member Deepak Rajput, accompanied by cow vigilantes affiliated with the Gau Raksha Dal, assaulted some vendors and vandalised several meat and fish stalls, demanding that vendors shut down their businesses because it was Tuesday. He claimed that non-vegetarian food should not be sold openly, particularly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and threatened to permanently shut down the businesses.
