VHP-Bajrang Dal members, led by Jyoti Sharma, targeted and harassed Muslim vendors at a Mahashivratri fair, threatening administrative action and forcing them to shut their shops. They accused the vendors of concealing their religious identity by adopting Hindu names for their businesses, blamed them for the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits, and told them, “it is your fault you are Muslim.” The group demanded that they sell outside mosques instead and urged customers not to purchase goods from them.
