During a Shri Shyam and Balaji Sankirtan organised by Shri Shyam “Pyaare” Parivar, popular bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal made anti-Muslim and anti-Christian remarks, claiming his gatherings attract only “kattar Hindus” and mocking critics by stating that those who “burn with jealousy” are dying while alive, whereas Hindus “burn only after death.” He alleged that devotional singing had been “corrupted” by those he described as “children of Babur” with “no connection to Sanatan Dharma.” He questioned religious legitimacy by linking conversion to Christianity or visiting mazars to “changing one’s father” and inviting “pitra dosh,” asserting that ancestors become displeased when one leaves Hinduism. He glorified the demolition of the Babri Masjid and referred to claims about rebuilding it, stating that the Ram Mandir had been built and that chants of “Jai Shri Ram” had driven “Babur’s spirit” out of India. He further alleged that “Bangladeshi and Pakistani ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators) are living in India under fake Hindu identities and targeting Hindu women, urging girls to “be like Durga and Kali and never be a burqewali.” He called for vigilance, asking women to inform their families if approached by men with Muslim names such as “Abdul” or “Javed.”
