In Hubli, Chakravarty Sulibele Demonizes Muslims and Calls for a “Force” to Protect Hindu Women

Location: Hubli, Dharwad, Karnataka

Hindu nationalist leader Chakravarty Sulibele delivered an anti-Muslim hate speech and termed Muslim women more dangerous than Muslim men. He alleged that they befriend Hindu women and take them to their homes where they are drugged through drinking water and handed over to Muslim men, whom he referred to as “rakshasas” (demons), to sexually exploit them and record videos for blackmail, invoking the film “The Kerala Story.” He claimed that the police treat Hindu activists unfairly while extending preferential treatment to Muslims, and urged the audience to support and honour Hindu activists, including those facing criminal cases or imprisonment, describing them as “protectors of the faith.” He further alleged that Hubballi and Dharwad are the “centre” of “love jihad” and claimed that Muslim men systematically target Hindu women. Invoking the Ramayana, he justified violence against those he accused of targeting Hindu women. He also called for the formation of a “force” inspired by Shivaji to protect Hindu women.
