In Kasganj, VHP Leader Glorifies Babri Masjid Demolition

Location: Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh

At a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Sthapna Diwas, district president Anuj Kumar glorified the Babri Masjid demolition, referring to erstwhile Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav as “Babur ki aulaad” and describing the deaths of kar sevaks during the 1990 Ayodhya police firing as sacrifices in the “war of dharm.” He also invoked Kashmir, claiming that they were threatened with death and forced to leave, and that more than 7,000 Hindus were killed and more than 30,000 Hindu women were dishonoured. He claimed that now they have a Hindu government, Article 370 has been removed, cattle slaughter has been stopped, and laws to curb “love jihad” have been implemented. He also glorified the actions of cow vigilantes from their organisation. He alleged that an “Islamic jihadi” population opposed land being provided for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and claimed that after the VHP’s protests and mobilisation, the “jihadi society” no longer dared to oppose them.
