In Loni, Hindu Raksha Dal Leaders Call for Muslims to Be Driven Out of Homes and Shops

Location: Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Following a case of s*xual assault involving a minor, Hindu Raksha Dal members used the incident to broadly target the Muslim community after the accused was apprehended in a police encounter. Hindu Raksha Dal leaders Sunny Bajrangi and Amit Prajapati derogatorily referred to Muslims as “pigs,” “mullas,” and “jihadis,” urged residents not to rent houses or shops to Muslims and “vidharmis,” and called for them to be driven out of their homes. They also alleged that Muslims obtain and share women’s contact information through mobile repair shops and claimed that Muslim hawkers deliberately use installment-based sales to gain access to Hindu localities and homes while concealing their identities.
