Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at an election campaign rally, claimed that the Congress government had handed over Kaziranga National Park to those he termed “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators), and asserted that his government has since freed it. He alleged that the Congress allowed “ghuspaithiya” to enter in order to give the issue a Hindu-Muslim angle, and maintained that the BJP is opposed only to “ghuspaithiya” and not to “Assamese Muslims.”
