Far-right influencer Harshu Thakur led a group of Hindu nationalists in pressuring police to register a POCSO case against an interfaith couple who had eloped. After police stated that the woman was neither missing nor kidnapped, Thakur and the group demanded that a POCSO case be filed on the grounds that she had allegedly been in a relationship with a Muslim man since she was 15. When police refused, the activists became confrontational and accused officers of facilitating “love jihad.”
