During a Vishal Hindu Sammelan organized by Sakal Hindu Samaj, far-right monk Kalicharan Maharaj demonized Muslims by claiming they celebrate when India loses to Pakistan and seek to turn India into “Dar-ul-Islam.” He also declared that Islam and Christianity are not native to India and that their followers are not Indian. At the same event, Shardda Shinde, a far-right speaker, claimed interfaith relationships would lead to Hindu women being killed, referred to Muslims as “jihadis,” and promoted violence, stating: “If a jihadist looks at you, just gouge out his eyes.”
