During a Virat Hindu Sammelan organized by Sakal Hindu Samaj, Nitesh Rane, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, delivered a anti-Muslim hate speech, referred to Muslims as “green snakes,” “goltopi,” and “dadiwalle,” and fearmongered about rising Muslim population and demographic change. He spread the conspiracy theories of “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” claimed Muslims are attempting a “green attack,” and alleged that Dhanori would be renamed with an Islamic identity. He threatened Muslims over cow protection, called for their expulsion as “Bangladeshis” and “Rohingyas,” and stated that only those who chant “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” can live in India. He also demonized madrasas, claimed they produce terrorists, and warned that Muslims pose a national security threat.
