Members of Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) shut down a mosque at Lower Lumparing, alleging that it was unauthorised and operating without approval from the local Dorbar Shnong (traditional village council). They further claimed that the premises had originally been permitted as a caretaker’s residence for a graveyard but had been converted into a mosque.
