At an event organised on the occasion of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary, former MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” claiming it was rapidly increasing. Referring to alleged crimes involving Muslims, including an alleged case of kidnapping of a Hindu woman by a “Mulla,” he urged BJP workers to remain vigilant and ensure that no “vidharmi” or “kukarmi” targeted Hindus. He also called for scrutiny of Christian missionary activities and asserted that BJP members were both “nationalist” and “Hindu nationalist” and would identify those conspiring against the nation, while accusing the Opposition of inaction.
