In Siliguri, Amit Shah Vows to Deport Alleged Infiltrators

Location: Siliguri, West Bengal

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a government event, claimed that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) but that her government had now been replaced by the BJP. He promised Hindu, Sikh, and Jain refugees from Bangladesh Indian citizenship within six months, while excluding “ghuspaithiya” (illegal infiltrators). He vowed to “pick out” and expel every “ghuspaithiya” from West Bengal under the government’s “Detect, Delete and Deport” policy, and highlighted plans to strengthen border fencing and the state government’s written assurance to cooperate with a committee on demographic changes.
