Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that only the BJP-led NDA can protect Assam from “infiltrators” and prevent demographic changes, as he campaigned for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing rallies in Barpeta and Barchalla, Adityanath claimed that the alliance led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure both development and preservation of heritage.
“Only the NDA can free Assam from infiltrators and ensure that the state’s demography does not change,” he said.
Sharp attack on Congress and AIUDF
The BJP leader accused the Indian National Congress and the All India United Democratic Front of harming Assam’s cultural identity.
“The Congress had been in power for 60 years in Assam, but it only encouraged infiltration, violence and riots. It put the local culture and heritage under threat,” he alleged.
