Muslim Family Alleges Attack by Cow Vigilantes on Siddipet–Hyderabad Highway, MBT Demands Action (The Observer Post)

By The Observer Post

A Muslim family travelling to Hyderabad has alleged that they were attacked by a group of self-styled cow vigilantes on the Siddipet–Hyderabad highway in Telangana, prompting sharp criticism from Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), which has demanded immediate police action.

According to a statement issued by MBT spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan, the incident took place on June 12 when Mohammed Imran, a resident of Shatrapalli village in Vemulawada Mandal, was travelling to Gandhi Hospital along with three relatives in a car.

The family was reportedly heading to Hyderabad for medical purposes when they were allegedly stopped between Vantimamidi and Turkapally by a group of around 10 to 15 men who identified themselves as “Gow Rakshaks.”

According to the complaint, the men allegedly assaulted the family without any provocation and vandalised their vehicle. The victims are said to have suffered injuries during the attack.

Victims allege police delayed action

Fearing for their safety, the family reportedly fled the scene and approached Genome Valley Police Station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate to seek help and file a complaint.

However, MBT alleged that the victims were made to wait for several hours before being told to approach Mulugu Police Station, as the location of the incident fell under its jurisdiction.

Even there, the family allegedly faced delays and were informed that no immediate action could be taken because the Sub-Inspector was not available.
