Far-right monk Madhuram Sharan Shiva, leader of the armed monks’ group Shiva Shakti Akhada, delivered anti-Muslim and anti-Christian speech and asserted that there is a conspiracy to destroy Hindus. He alleged that Hindus are the land’s original inhabitants and warned that those who arrived 1,500–2,000 years ago expanded into multiple nations while Hindus declined, citing Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. He fearmongered about alleged demographic change and claimed that Hindus can not organise religious events in nine Indian states. He also invoked the conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and criticised Hindu women for sending their children to English medium institutions and distancing them from their religion.
