At a Trishul Diksha event organised by VHP-Bajrang Dal, VHP leader Jitendra Pawar glorified the demolition of the Babri Masjid and positioned the construction of the Ram Mandir as a challenge to “vidharmins,” stating, “we have stepped on the chests of ‘Mughals’ and hoisted the saffron; Babur, wake up from the grave and see us build the temple.”Another speaker referred to a poem by Rahat Indori that says everyone’s blood is mixed in the soil of the country, derogatorily claiming that no drop from a “circumcision” could grant them a claim to the land, which he insisted belongs solely to Hindus. He glorified a recent act of defiance in which Bajrang Dal members ignored administrative orders to pass through Qazi Camp, a Muslim-majority area, during a Hanuman Janmotsav procession. Encouraging the audience to replicate this by marching through other Muslim-majority localities like Apaganj, he declared that these areas belong to Hindus and not “jihadis.” A far-right monk claimed that one needs religious texts as well as weapons to protect their religion. The participants also took oath with “trishuls” and marched while brandishing them.
